Rhinoplasty, which can be performed appropriately in both genders, is a complicated operation. The first result is not the final result. It takes a long period of 6 to 12 months to fully achieve the expected result.

Preparations that need to be made before the surgery are communicated to you by your doctor in advance.

The most important factor hindering recovery in the postoperative period is tobacco use.

Interestingly, rhinoplasty surgery is not a seriously painful surgery. Since cutting is usually done in bone structures, strong painkillers are administered at the end of the surgery. Most of our patients do not require additional painkillers and a great deal of relief is achieved with the application of ice. Most of our patients who come for postoperative examination state that they did not experience any problems during the week.

As with every surgery, rhinoplasty has some complications that are possible but not common. The risks of bleeding and infection are complications that can occur in almost any type of surgery. Of course, there are some reasons that may increase the susceptibility to this situation. For example, smoking disrupts the oxygenation of tissues and may increase the tendency to infection. Serious bleeding may also occur in patients who use blood thinners such as aspirin or have an unrecognized bleeding disorder. Since the amount of bleeding due to hormonal changes will increase significantly during menstrual periods, we do not want to perform surgery during these periods. Due to unnoticed blood collection (hematoma) or abscess, the main support cartilage of the nose may melt and cause the nose to collapse (saddle nose).

Smaller aesthetic interventions (bichectomy, eyelid aesthetics, etc.) can be added as needed.
